Store the Car in a Cool, Dry Place

Excessive heat can damage or melt car components. The frigid cold is also not advised. Store the car in a cool, dry place to avoid damage.

This rule also applies when you first buy the car. If you plan to give the car as a birthday or holiday gift, store it somewhere safe before you present it to your child.

Battery Care

Before giving the car to your child, you may want to test the battery to ensure it charges properly. However, you should avoid fully charging it as overcharging can cause damage.

The full charge should be reserved for when you give the car to your child, and this is something you should do in advance. Imagine giving your child an electric car that they are eager to ride and then having to tell them they need to wait 8-12 hours for the battery to charge!

If you plan to store the car for the cold weather, give the battery a 50% charge, disconnect it, and store it in a cool dry place. Completely draining the battery can shorten its lifespan. With that in mind, it should also be charged after every use.
